A 45° angle on the connector helps extend the life of the cord and inlet by reducing instances of arcing compared to a straight/inline connector.

This power cord is designed for use only with the 80688 series of inlets as the threaded ring surrounding the connector screws around the sealing collar on the inlet to provide maximum protection against the elements.
